Joelle Williams is a Los Angeles-based interdisciplinary artist and student passionate about photojournalism and visual anthropology. Interested in the intersection between visual media and cultural collective memory, Joelle holds a passion for visual anthropological work, the archive, and creative expressions of the human experience. She has a background in a multitude of photographic processes, ethnographic fieldwork, and archive management which she brings to her storytelling practice to create nuanced, visually-driven narratives that honor history, place, and lived experience. Her personal photographic work centers around collective memory and culture, highlighting the visual aspects of personhood that are often overlooked.
